Using different texts of Antonio Caso, this research intends to show that the legacy of the Conquest and the Colony in Latin America has been unable, because of historical and psychological reasons, to recognize the "human person". At the same time, this texts show how important was for Caso the French moralism in search for personalism. This moralism wasn't important to the pre-Independent thought in Latin America, because of the big influence of the Catholic Church. Finally, a real moral conciousness is still to construct in Latin America.
