This article explores the emergence of new indigenous youth identities in the northern Veracruz region known as Totonacapan as a phenomenon linked to changes experienced by this society due to its increasing connections with the rest of the country, through education, technology, labor and migration. In particular, it examines the relationship between the phenomenon of migration and its consequences for local cultures and identities, especially in terms of domestic and community formations.
