This study tries to explain the Cotton Spinning and Knitting Factory named La Providencia carried out by Tort brothers in Chiapas State of Mexico. It was the most modern factory built in the state at the end of the XIX century, deed from a modern ideal belonging to that period of time thought, and it forms part into the historic context of Mexico between the three last decades in the XIX and the first decade in the XXX century, which is reproduced in a particular form in Chiapas State This is a historic age with medium length that join the different events appeared in a simultaneous way during the factory construction. The explanation in that time was based in the social concept factor (Touraine, 1997), with medium length (Braudel, 1991) as well as the revision of different sources like family files, libraries and newspaper libraries from the State and Mexico City.
