This article focuses on analyzing the discourse created around the concept of "Indian" in Chiapas in the late eighteenth century to 1821. The purpose is to emphasize how he looked, and the policies adopted towards him in a time of social and political ferment. It seeks to understand how they thought and actedpowerful groups against this population elucidating his conception of the Indian, which will help to explain better the lives of this subject at the juncture of transition.
