The extensive routes derived from the monitoring of seismic works, paradoxically tend to be relevant to the knowledge of a region, as it is the case of the works of exploration ofhydrocarbons, in the mid basin of the Uxpanapa River, whose coverage has allowed us to register a number of pre-Columbian settlements dating from the pre-classic Olmec through to the Postclassic; This region being located in the center of the isthmus and contain a comprehensive hydrological network, it allowed the development and population movements between the Gulf and Pacific coast.
