The article below discusses the role of lieutenancy in the book La rebelión de las Cañadas, by Carlos Tello Díaz, one of the forms of fiction in historical writing proposed by Paul Ricoeur. It reviews, then, the use of oral and written sources in the reconstruction of the EZLN past made by the author.
