Ingenier. mecáni. tecnolog. desarroll [online]. 2012, vol.4, n.2, pp.51-60. ISSN 1665-7381.

In this article it is presented a methodology to find the optimal operation and design conditions of a solar cooling system based on choosing the right temperature of the generator to couple an array of CPC solar collectors and a diffusion-absorption cooling system that employed the mixture NH3-H2O-He. The study is based on a mathematical model and a simulation, which was validated with experimental data reported in the literature. The simulator consists of two parts, the cooling unit and the array of solar collectors, which were coded on the platform EES and Matlab 7.0 respectively. For the case study presented it was obtained a design generator temperature of 96.54 ° C, resulting in an efficiency of 0.59 for the cooling unit and 0.60 of efficiency for the solar collection system. The overall efficiency of the solar cooling system was 0.35.

Palabras llave : Solar cooling system; diffusion absorption; compound parabolic concentrator; COP; NH3-H2O-He.
