This article aims to analyze male relationships in ancient Rome through the study of the works of three important Latin poets, Catulo, Martial and Juvenal. After pointing out the useless nature of the legislation in this regard, we verify that the masculine relations of the Romans, although mostly through slaves, tended to be frequent in Rome, and proof of this is the monopoly of homoerotism in the representative poetry of period. Instead, moral censorship remained constant, but not to the point of allowing effective legal reproof.
