Resumen

PEREZ CASTANEDA, Juan Carlos. Condueñazgos in Mexico during the nineteenth century. Sig. his [online]. 2018, vol.20, n.40, pp.178-231.  Epub 03-Ago-2020. ISSN 1665-4420.

The term condueñazgo was used in several regions of Mexico during the twentieth century to refer to different legal forms of land ownership. The Constituent Assembly of Querétaro mistakenly included these owners as “corporations” in article 27 of the Constitution of 1917, which immediately turned them into beneficiaries of the agricultural land distribution. This article aims at identifying the different meanings of the term condueñazgo and the facets it had during the nineteenth century, in order to gain a better understanding of how the agrarian system then in force worked, as well as what the practices of land tenure were like.

Palabras llave : disentailment; property; co-ownership; agrarian system; land tenure.
