MUNOZ, Laura. National Geographic and Revolutionary Mexico (1910-1920). Sig. his [online]. 2013, vol.15, n.30, pp.8-31. ISSN 1665-4420.
This article studies the image of Mexico disseminated by the National Geographic review during the period of the Mexican Revolution. It argues that along this period the magazine reiterated the representation of Mexico constructed previously as a picturesque country, rich in resources, and with great economic potential. This image differed from the predominant visions of Mexico in most publications in the United States, in which Mexico was regarded as an unstable and violent country. Also, the authorship of the photographs published at that time is pointed out, as well as the strategies used to attribute them to certain photographers.
