This paper aims to trace the intellectual itinerary of some of the Guatemalan intellectuals of the so-called generation of the nine hundred and twenty, such as Miguel Angel Asturias, Luis Cardoza y Aragón and Arqueles Vela. To follow theirs footsteps and analyze and interpret them is also intended to show the close cultural and intellectual ties with their Mexican counterparts and with the movement Clarté!, in France.
