The principal objective of this paper is to propose an analysis of the newspaper Rojo Amanecer as a mean of studying the ideology of the Campeche Socialist Agrarian Party (PSAC - for its Spanish acronym), 1921-1924. As well as providing a brief explanation of the use of the press as a source for historical study and an outline of the emergence of the PSAC, this article analyses the function and structure of Rojo Amanecer during the years in question. A brief study of the proposals of socialism and agrarianism published within the pages of the paper will also be presented. This, in turn, serves as an example of the role the paper served in Campeche as a mean of disseminating ideas and ideology.
