At the end of the nineteenth century, Argentina assisted to a modernization process, in which conflicts were no absent. In that context, the country assisted at a discursive profusion that pretended discipline the society. Between that control tools, was the conformation of a modern maternal ideal. This article pretends to analyze those topics through the local press in Buenos Aires central and south countryside towns.
