This article is in charge of analyzing the economic situation of the convent of San Bernardo in Mexico City during the seventeenth century. Mainly focusing on inversions made through the granting of loans, like depósito irregular. It is important to state that most of the academic works that have studied the economic aspects of the colonial times, show that the depósitos were used in the eighteenth century. Nevertheless, in the case of the convent of San Bernardo one can see that the depósitos were inversions with tendencies to increase since the end of the seventeenth century.
