We present a study of the optical properties of glass matrices with Erbium trivalent impurities, which were synthesized by Sol-Gel technology. The experiments of optical absorption, emission and excitation were carried out at room temperature between range 300 to 1000 nm. It identifies and discusses the existence of a of radiative energy transfer process between the network and the Er3+ ions. It also presents the characteristics of thermo-optic on condition of resonant absorption of the ion Er3+, for different concentrations of Erbium. The effect of Thermal Lens noticed is discussed in terms of theoretical model.
