This work presents the joining of stainless steel AISI 316L (used on heat interchangers) employing a commercial Ni76.5Fe4.2Cr13B2.8Si4.5 (Metglas ©) amorphous foil as the filler material. Results show favorable joints at temperatures of 1105° C observing better joints from 10 minutes since zones without joining are not observed. On the other hand, it is observed that in joints at 1170° C major diffusion is attained. The joining process was carried out by means of chemical reaction diffusion between the materials.
