MACCHIAROLA, Viviana; MANCINI, Alicia; MARTINI, Celina e MONTEBELLI, Ana Eugenia. New academic formats for educational inclusion in Argentina. Child activity centers. Innov. educ. (Méx. DF) [online]. 2018, vol.18, n.77, pp.183-207. ISSN 1665-2673.
In Argentina, the National Department of Education implemented several socio-educational policies directed at promoting the equality and educational quality projected in the National Education Act number 26 206, ratified in the year 2006. Among the lines of actions implemented by these policies are the child activity centers (CAI, in Spanish), launched throughout the country in 2010 and aimed at: a) Supporting and accompanying the academic path of the students with community teachers; b) Widening the cultural horizons of children through arts, sports, communications and science workshops; and c) Reinforcing the bonds among school, family and community. The objective of this research is to understand the way in which the educational strategies and dynamics carried out in these centers contribute to the enhancement of processes of the educational inclusion of children from vulnerable social sectors, from the perspective and evaluation of the students, instructors and families. Five CAI from a province in Argentina are analyzed using a qualitative methodology.
