Resumo

This paper discusses how the knowledge of human evolution significantly contributes to the training of students and the population at large. In this context, we present two reflections on the wealth of possibilities represented by classrooms and museums as spaces for the construction of knowledge and for the communication of this subject. Additionally, we propose three categories of key information as fundamental elements to consider when approaching this topic: what characterizes us as a species; how, when and where did significant processes in human evolution occur; and what are the main elements that allow us to understand why they occurred.
