CARANGUI CARDENAS, Luis Ramiro; CAJAMARCA CRIOLLO, Olger Antonio  e  MANTILLA CRESPO, Xavier Augusto. The impact of the use of simulators in teaching finance administration. Innov. educ. (Méx. DF) [online]. 2017, vol.17, n.75, pp.103-122. ISSN 1665-2673.

The application of traditional methods for teaching finance administration affects the academic performance of students, instructor evaluation, and to a certain extent jeopardizes the accreditation of the degree program. This reality led us to research if the inclusion of technologies such as the simulator @RISK would have favorable impacts on the teaching process. The research was carried out with a qualitative approach, a case study methodology, and the participation of two groups of students: a control group and a group with simulation. The results demonstrated impacts on the cognitive, the practical and the attitudes adopted by both the students and the instructors: the former participated in a dynamic, collaborative and responsible way, while the latter adopted the role of protagonist, guide, motivator, coordinator and interlocutor for the students, making it necessary to reproduce new experiences mediated with technological resources in the teaching of subjects related to finance and other topics.

Palavras-chave : @RISK simulator; collaborative work; simulation; teaching-learning process; traditional teaching.
