Abstract

SILVA QUIROZ, Juan  and  MATURANA CASTILLO, Daniela. A proposal of a Model for the introduction of active methodologies in Higher Education. Innov. educ. (Méx. DF) [online]. 2017, vol.17, n.73, pp.117-131. ISSN 1665-2673.

Higher education is currently going through a challenging moment of transition in its educational models. There is a need to rethink the different elements and actors that form the basis of education: professors, students, materials, evaluation, content, activities, technology and methodologies. In this scenario, the methodologies as a guiding element of education takes on vital importance, especially those that favor the active role of the student, meaningful learning, collaboration and autonomy. This article presents the proposal of a model to facilitate the use of active methodologies in higher education, placing the student at the center of the learning and teaching process, bringing together the different elements that make up the educational experience. The context and problems of contemporary teaching in higher education is presented, as well as active methodologies and information and communications technology as tools to favor these methodologies; in conclusion we present a proposal for a model that combines all these different aspects.

Keywords : Active learning; active methodologies; higher education; information and communications technology; teaching methodology.
