Resumen

LEMUS ORTIZ, Lenoska Adriana; TORRES JIMENEZ, Flor Silvestre; SERRANO TREJO, Mónica  y  GUZMAN BARCENAS, Guadalupe de Jesús. Tutoring: A fundamental point for improving the academic performance of higher education students. Innov. educ. (Méx. DF) [online]. 2015, vol.15, n.67, pp.89-110. ISSN 1665-2673.

The goal of the present study was to design a program to support tutoring through the creation of learning strategies to impact students' academic development, promote attitudes of self and peer evaluation, based on evaluation criteria from previously established evidence. The method was research action. We made a mixed, transversal, descriptive study with 285 participants from the psychology and optometry programs of the Interdisciplinary Center of Health Sciences, at the Santo Tomás Center of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN). Six phases were developed that focused on: searching for bibliographic information on the topic; the organization, implementation, and follow-up of the orientation and support sessions, which included methodological aspects of interdisciplinary work, peer advising, collaborative work and in situ learning. The evaluation instrument was the rubric. The results indicate that if there are previously established criteria to carry out measure of learning, the development of students' learning and academic development will be benefitted.

Palabras llave : Learning strategies; learning evaluation; measurements of learning; tutoring; rubric.
