DIAZ GONZALEZ, José Andrés  y  CORDERO CORDERO, Stephanie. The Preferences of the Electorate in the 2018 Second Presidential round in Costa Rica: A Model of Political Socialization. Polít. gob [online]. 2020, vol.27, n.1, ePyG1243.  Epub 30-Jun-2020. ISSN 1665-2037.

This article analyzes the preferences of the electorate before the second round of the 2018 presidential elections in Costa Rica. It proposes a model to determine if the electoral preferences of the population were affected by their political socialization, the political situation or other sociodemographic characteristics. It is concluded that the primary political socialization, understood as the interactions and conversations held on politics with relatives and close people, as well as religious preferences, were the variables that had the greatest incidence to choose for which candidate to vote in the ballot.

Palabras llave : elections; political behavior; polls; political socialization; Costa Rica.
