Abstract

SANTIAGO OROPEZA, Teresa. The idea of history in Luis Villoro. Sig. Fil [online]. 2015, vol.17, n.34, pp.98-119. ISSN 1665-1324.

This article deals with Luis Villoro’s idea of history, a facet of his thought not always properly valued under review. In particular I am interested in rescuing his idea of history from the essay “El sentido de la historia” without ignoring other texts such as Los grandes momentos del indigenismo en México and El proceso ideológico de la revolución de Independencia. The central thesis of this essay is that Villoro’s idea of history notably exemplifies a turning point for the philosophy of history debating between analytic philosophy and Marxism.

Keywords : history; philosophy of history; sense of history; ideology; knowledge.
