GALFIONE, María Verónica. The origins of Friedrich Schlegel’s romantic thought. Sig. Fil [online]. 2015, vol.17, n.34, pp.8-35. ISSN 1665-1324.

In this article, I aim to demonstrate that some of the ideas that frequently are attributed to the romantic thought of Friedrich Schlegel have already been sketched in the Studium-Aufsatz. First, I put in evidence the difficulties contained in the historical-philosophical perspective that Schlegel presented in that text. Secondly, I analyse the way in which the concepts of criticism and fragmentary work are introduced there. I argue that these ideas anticipate an aesthetic conception that departs from the historical-philosophical guidelines in the Studium-Aufsatz, and also establishes an inherent connection between absolute and singular works of art.

Palavras-chave : Schlegel; criticism; Romanticism; classicism; fragment.
