Abstract

GARCIA GONZALEZ, Dora Elvira. An approach to the ideal of peace from the ethical imagination. Sig. Fil [online]. 2014, vol.16, n.32, pp.104-124. ISSN 1665-1324.

This article analyzes the possibility of the construction of peace having the violent reality we live in as a starting point and searching possible ways in which such reality can be transcended and transformed. This opens channels which disrupt the defense of such violence as an indisputable reality, whose forms have been invisible, legitimized and naturalized. Altering the diverse expressions of violence requires settling conflicts in order to break its cycle and transform it into peaceful processes. The sustained hypothesis alludes to the possibility of the construction of peace -or peaces- appealing to the resource of ethical imagination which can achieve reconciliation.

Keywords : conflict; ethical imagination; peace; transformation; violence.
