Resumen

SANCHEZ MADRID, Nuria. The limits of community: Observations about the role of friendship and benevolence in Aristotle's political philosophy. Sig. Fil [online]. 2014, vol.16, n.31, pp.09-36. ISSN 1665-1324.

This article focuses in the procedure whereupon the practical philosophy of Aristotle establishes which are the extreme limits of the citizen space, emphasizing that what it is in outside of that demarcation is as much or more decisive for the city that the legal framework that we find in its interior. The work maintains the following thesis: the practical philosophy of Aristotle displays the city like a between irreducible founded on two poles or hardly objectivable ends, that is to say, its original materia and its ideal model. Starting off of here, I defend that the coexistence model that even offers the friendship and its introduction, the benevolence, works like a regulative index that orients the efforts that the city directs to the fulfilment of its own érgon.

Palabras llave : friendship; Aristotle; community; justice; polis.
