How could we describe the minimal unit of meaning of a controversy? The traditional notion of sign is not enough to make explicit its structure satisfactorily. Certain notions of the Semantic Blocks Theory and of French Discourse Analysis allow to shed some light on this problem. However, in order to describe the sign of controversy we will need to discuss them and to integrate them in a different perspective. This work intends to precise its specificity on the basis of the analysis of some press fragments concerning the Argentinian "Nisman" affaire.
