This paper characterizes the concept of Romantic irony in a poem by César Vallejo in order to demonstrate that, instead of an ironic one, it is a paradoxical resource that doesn't evaluate its referents negatively, but concretes itself as a neutral value speech product of the annulation of opposite charges.
