Introduction. Medical capacities assessment from professional competencies perspective is a necessity at all levels of training. Material and methods. We assessed 16 pediatric residents and 3 staff pediatricians using a validated instrument with 6 real cases exploring 17 clinical capacity indicators.True- false type questions were in equilibrium (50%) and 1 1 indicators questions equal. Non parametric statistics were used for data analysis. Results. Of 19 participants including 3 staff pediatricians, 95% presented coarse level clinical capacities. There were significant differences (P <0.05) in 3 of 17 indicator scores, minor medical experience decided. Indicators low grade association was showed. Conclusions. The professional competencies program in our pediatric residency program has not contributed favorably to clinical capacities development evaluated in this study.
