Abstract

ALBA MERAZ, Alejandro Roberto. Conflicto, autoridad y argumentación: Elementos para pensar los caminos para la paz en el aula. Sinéctica [online]. 2014, n.42, pp.1-16. ISSN 2007-7033.

The following essay proposes to explore the following hypothesis: it is possible to reduce classroom conflicts and minimize school violence through the work of both, students and teachers, on the development of two instruments: the use of positive authority and the implementation of skills to transform conflicts by means of argumentation practice. Our hypothesis comes from two principles; the first one is related to the postulate that states that authority is fundamental to create order and autonomy sense. The second one, states that human beings possess an argumentation ability, which developed optimally as a didactic strategy, can help efficiently to turn conflicts into non-violent solutions. Our purpose is oriented to the need of reflection about the peace conditions in classrooms so that later they can be replied in other society domains.

Keywords : conflict; authority; practical argumentation; youngsters; high school.
