Abstract

SERNA RODRIGUEZ, Armandina  and  LUNA SERRANO, Edna. Valores y competencias para el ejercicio de la docencia de posgrado. Sinéctica [online]. 2011, n.37, pp.1-17. ISSN 2007-7033.

The object of this study was to identify and to hierarchies the most important characteristics, values, and competencies of the postgraduate education practice in the expression of the teaching staff of a Mexican public university. This research corresponds to a descriptive study in which were used qualitative and quantitative techniques; this research includes an inquiry sample of 135 professors. Through this study we confirmed that the most important values perceived are: integrity, respect, and professionalism as much in the general hierarchical structure as in the knowledge areas. In the other hand, the less valued the competence identified is the social one. We conclude proposing the analysis of the competencies and social values for the teaching staff collective.

Keywords : educational ethics; educational values; competencies.
