This paper aims to analyze the systems of higher distance education in the context of the problems of higher education in Mexico, from a structural perspective of social analysis of institutional networks. The network concept is treated as a symbolic or metaphorical social organization, analytical and synthetic construction of the structures of relationships and human interactions and operational and functional construction of communication and information systems. The contribution of this paper is the construction of three models of networks from analysis of the characteristics of these systems in three public universities.
