Resumen
BRICENO-ALCARAZ, Gloria Esther. Rethinking education in Mexico from the Communicative Action Theory of Habermas. Espiral (Guadalaj.) [online]. 2022, vol.29, n.83, pp.9-37. Epub 26-Sep-2022. ISSN 1665-0565.
This is a work of reflection where one of the main contributions of the Habermasian proposal is analyzed: communicative rationality, which requires intersubjectivity to achieve understanding (Verständigung), a condition of socialization processes that, like education, are fundamental to deliberative democracies. We will argue that communicative rationality can be an ideal and valid construct to critically review the role of education in social and political contexts such as those we are living today in Mexico, since it takes up the ideal of education for the emancipation of students. In this sense, the political and discursive irruption of the 4T offers us the opportunity to critically deconstruct and reconstruct some of the neoliberal public policies that influenced the educational reforms of the last two six year periods, giving technical and practical interest to the Mexican educational system.
