This research will try to tackle and analyze, in the framework of the intermediate July 2009 electoral process in Mexico, the causes, motivations and the construction, of Abstracts No " 56 what was called the "void vote movement", focusing on the State of Jalisco. In order to achieve the above, I contextualize briefly both the social and the political environment in the national ambit, which originated the idea of voiding the vote; I will also dwell on the construction of said movement. Likewise, I use qualitative and quantitative tools to figure out the results obtained in the ballots and therefore, the impact the voiding movement had. Finally, I present the face of the average void voter and refleet upon the present and future ofthe movement.
