This article analyzes the public financing of National Political Associations in Mexico during 2000-2005, particularly it studies the normative basis of financing and the sanctions they have received due to different irregularities in their annual reports of incomes and expenditures. This work underlines that although the existence of a good fiscal legislation still continues the illegal practices by several political associations; so it becomes necessary the reinforcement and supervision of sanctions in order to obtain a better engagement with transparency and an effective accountability.
