In this essay I analyze the term “presentism”, as it is used by some approaches in the theory of history. Then I discuss some of its uses in the field of political action through: a) conceptual change that rises as expectations turn into experiences; b) the reformulation of the idea of political experience, and c) the crisis of the idea of political project. I conclude with some tentative remarks about the scope and significance of presentism as an epoch diagnose.
