The goal of this paper is to make an analysis of the reasons that have opened again the cycle of elections, conflict, and a possible reform. To attain this goal we will analyze some of the paradoxes that characterized the electoral 2012 process in Mexico. We ask ourselves about the important differences and similarities between 2006 and 2012. We try to understand what makes authority and citizenship distinct. This shows that the elections of 2012 were full of contradictions, achievements, and inertias, something that speaks of a democracy which is still far from being consolidated.
