FORTUNY LORET DE MOLA, Patricia y SOLIS LIZAMA, Mirian. Solidaridades entre poblaciones móviles: campesinos, mestizos e indígenas mexicanos en el suroeste de la Florida. Desacatos [online]. 2006, n.20, pp.135-154. ISSN 2448-5144.
This paper analyzes three kinds of solidarities build among mobile populations of Mexican migrant peasants, indians and mestizos in Immolake, Florida. It also includes an explanation of the spontaneous informal and more formal ways each population uses to bond with each other. Regarding the first population, the authors describe the networks of mutual support generated spontaneously or circumstantially between Dominicans and a family of peasants from Chiapas. In the second case, the mestizos belong to families from Chamácuaro, Guanajuato, and exemplify the typical ties of people from the same region to their "place of origin" through their patron saint's festivities. The third case shows the dense social networks build by the Otomíes from the state of Hidalgo.
