Abstract

PELLEGRINI MALPIEDI, Micaela. Strikes, teachers and rumours. A scene of women in struggle from a case study (Firmat, Argentina, 1921). La ventana [online]. 2019, vol.6, n.49, pp.283-316. ISSN 1405-9436.

The current article capitalizes on sociocultural history contributions as regards to unravel the meanings of a particular case: the performance of women teachers in moments of strikes and claims. We position ourselves in a bounded local-regional reality: the town of Firmat in Santa Fe, Argentina. In these terms, the journalistic speeches of Santa Fe press are discussed attentive to the groups of women on strike: they supported them, but mostly sought to destabilize them however, by means of a pendular game, the teachers will use this to spread a rumor as a tactic of empowerment. The purpose: delegitimize and discredit those who accused them for their actions.

Keywords : teachers; stoke; rumor; tactic; morale.
