This paper shows the scientific literature of Chilean family using gender and kinship categories. In this theoretical approach, considering the meaningful studies in this area, I show how these categories are fundamental to understand the relation of power and kinship; Secondly, I explain a specific proposal "to work kinship constellations for the analysis of family from a gender approach" in order to analyse gender and kinship as social constructions of family's life in a feminist critical perspective.
