Resumen
SILES BARCENAS, Isaac Ali. Poder y afectividad: paternidad en varones mormones. La ventana [online]. 2012, vol.4, n.35, pp.322-375. ISSN 1405-9436.
This paper aims to present some reflections on the conceptions of male-parents, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), commonly known as Mormons, about their relationships with their partner and children, particularly regarding relationships of power and affection. It explores the meanings attributed by these males to their position of power over the various family actors, and their ability to exercise authority or influence over them, and/or being influenced by them. It also examines the affective component of these relationships, as a major symbolic reference to the significance and the exercise of parental activity. All this is done in the light of the religious normativity provided by the Mormon creed.
