This article analyzes the manifestations of sexuality in six female characters of Juan Rulfo's Pedro Páramo (Dolores Preciado, Pedro Páramo's mother, Eduviges Dyada, Dorotea, Justina Díaz and Damiana Cisneros) in regard to two gendered roles (wife and mother) associated with the Expected Female Self that has characterized the androcentric worldview, in order to study the various "recreations" and/or "transgressions" of such roles in each case.
