This paper studies the transmission of indigenous languages through an analysis of the use of Mother Tongues across generations. it also shows the different conditions of the indigenous languages at the regional, state and municipal levels. it features a comparison of the indexed data for each of the 62 ethnolinguistic groups collected through two major demographic studies: the 2000 General Census and the 2005 Count of Population and Housing, which allow us measure the decline or recovery of indigenous languages in Mexico.
