To an observer from the Civil Law system, the recent developments may appear as if the legal relation binding the institution, as provider of the public service of education and their students is beginning to look like a contract liable to be enforced by agencies and courts, wherein lawyers represent their clients claims and appeals. The article is addressed to lawyers and scholars in the countries of Civil Law tradition where similar developments are beginning to take place, so as to consider the convenience of adapting the procedures and solutions already existing in the Common Law system, taking into account the special needs and legal institutions of their own countries.
