Abstract

MAXIMILIANO-MARTINEZ, Guadalupe; RIVERA-HERREJON, María Gladys; FRANCO-MALVAIZ, Ana Laura  and  SORIA-RUIZ, Jesús. Maize commercialization after Conasupo in two communities in the North of the State of Mexico. Econ. soc. territ [online]. 2011, vol.11, n.35, pp.197-224. ISSN 2448-6183.

The study is focused on two small producers and buyers of maize in the State of Mexico, Mexico. We analyze the change that occurred once Conasupo disappeared; this disappearance had as a main effect the restructuring of maize market, it became clear that there was no knowledge on the market and that this process is the main problem faced by the producer when the harvests end, and it has forced the producers to look for other options such as the specialization of production to improve yields and the quality of maize.

Keywords : Conasupo; maize.
