HERNANDEZ-LOEZA, Sergio Enrique. Participation in development processes: The case of four civil society organizations in the municipality of Cuetzalán, Puebla. Econ. soc. territ [online]. 2011, vol.11, n.35, pp.95-120. ISSN 2448-6183.
The concept of development has been understood in different ways, according to the theoretical perspective which it departs from, as well as its use have been harshly criticized by several authors. In the following pages we argue in favor of retaking the anthropological notion of development, underscoring the importance of the micro analyses of the development processes to give an account of the desires of the population and the difficulties faced to perform participative exercises and generate collaboration networks. Based on the analysis of the experience of four civil society organizations located in the municipality of Cuetzalán, Puebla, Mexico, we show some of the reaches, challenges and limits to participation in the development processes.
