ROMAN-GONZALES, Stanley Jinel. Design and implementation of a controlled-voice chessboard prototype by using a mobile application. Ing. invest. y tecnol. [online]. 2022, vol.23, n.1, e1905.  Epub 02-Maio-2022. ISSN 2594-0732.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fi.25940732e.2022.23.1.005.

The recreation with a board game such as chess has many benefits such as cognitive and emotional development in children to the prevention of Alzheimer's disease in the elderly, however, these benefits are not available to people with motor impairment or in circumstances in which two outsiders cannot be very close. Due to the above, it is necessary to develop a device that addresses these issues. This paper presents the development of an alpha prototype of a chess board whose moves are controlled by voice through a mobile application and whose opponent is located remotely. The design of the prototype consists of a square box of 38 cm x 38 cm x 7 cm where the chessboard panel with the chess pieces is located at the top, internally is located the Cartesian manipulator that moves the chess pieces around the board and the electronic control system that consists of a series of easily replaceable components responsible for controlling and analyzing the movements made by the chess pieces on the board. In addition, there is a mobile application which will have the function of converting the player's voice into a digital signal and send it to the chess board controller; it also provides the option to play remotely with someone else who has the same board. With the development of the prototype it was possible to establish the foundations for further improvements. It was observed, for example, that another game mode can be included by adding a sensor in the end effector of the manipulator to detect if there is a draw in any square.
