Abstract

HINCAPIE-ISAZA, Ricardo Alberto; HOME-ORTIZ, Juan Manuel  and  GALLEGO-RENDON, Ramón Alfonso. A New Expansion Model for Electric Distribution Systems with Distributed Generation Considering Coordinated Multi-Stage Planning. Ing. invest. y tecnol. [online]. 2017, vol.18, n.1, pp.43-53. ISSN 2594-0732.

This paper presents a new model for expansion of electric distribution system with penetration of distributed generation, considering coordinated multi-stage planning. The problem is formulated as a mixed integer non-linear programming model and is solved using a tabu search algorithm. For each stage of the planning horizon are considered the installation of new elements (feeders, substations and distributed generation), upgrading of existing elements (feeders and substations), and operating costs associated to energy technical losses in feeders. The obtained results validate the proposed methodology because total costs are lower when they are compared with two scenarios used in the literature: non-coordinated and coordinated multi-stage planning (both without distributed generation).

Keywords : tabu search algorithm; distributed generation; non-coordinated and coordinated multi-stage planning; electricity distribution system.
