Abstract

NUNEZ-GUTIERREZ, C.A.; LIRA- PEREZ, J.; PAZOS-FLORES, F.  and  ECHAVARRIA-SOLIS, R.. Active Rectifier with Extended Functions: An Option to Voltage Sags Ride Through and Power Quality Improvement. Ing. invest. y tecnol. [online]. 2010, vol.11, n.3, pp.303-313. ISSN 2594-0732.

The power quality concept, is usually confused with energy saving. However, even if energy saving is desirable over all in industry applications, the first concept does not implie the second one. For the electrical engineers, the improvement of power quality using the existing converters is a great challenge. This paper deals with a multilevel, single phase active rectifier whose main objective is to compensate power factor which, with an adequate control, provides voltage sag compensation and power quality conditioning.

Keywords : Multilevel rectifier; power quality; voltage sag; active filter.
