In this paper ouflow hydrographs of a dam breach were obtained by means of a reservoir numerical flood routing algorithm which takes into count the variations in the width of the breach and the height of the dam; the obtained outflow hydrographs were considered for three different situations; finally these hydrographs were used as input data in a wave propagation model of a river located down stream of the hydropower project La Parota, Gro., Mexico.
